On April 15th 2014, Lights and Fuses played their first gig in the underground venue dasBach.
Founded in early 2014 by long time friends Silvi and Ljubo, Lights and Fuses played an awesome mixture of alternative pop and rock.
The young duo from Vienna caught the audience’s attention at the beginning and kept it until the end of their set which consisted of seven songs. The crowd, who already knew their first single „Play the Devil„ from their YouTube channel, were left craving more at the end.
The seven songs varied from pop songs to rocking ballads and were accentuated by Ljubos work on the guitar anf his live looping skills. No background samples were used. Silvi’s powerful yet tempting voice was Ljubo’s live looping work, be it a grippin‘ bass line or elegant licks, that accompanied the lead guitar he played.
Ljubo is a self taught guitarist, also playing in two metal bands, „The Heavy Souls “ and „Before the Fall„. He is full of creativity and skill, his focused demeanor giving Silvi (who studies at the Vienna Conservatory) a secure ground to demonstrate her powers. Silvi came across as charming yet shy, but as soon as she started singing the crowd was mezmerized by her confidence.
rockvideos.at will be keeping an eye on „Lights and Fuses“ and we are looking forward to our interview with them.

The U.S. boys were the main act of the night and confidently lead the crowd through their works of „talk music„. Frontman Dan Smith opened the set with the words:“friday night, made to party“, not wearing any shoes. We were in for a night of „Rock’n’Roll Poetry.
The mustachioed rocker delivered lyrical gems effortlessly into the audience while he played the bass, and often moved too quickly for my camera shutter. Once let loose, he is unstoppable. Christin Nelson’s guitar riffs produced catchy tunes that delivered the spirit of high class rock. Sometimes I caught myself wondering how soft female backing vocals could add to the already eclectic mix. Kris Rochelle ruled the drums from the back of the stage and added solid fundamentals to the whole sound. The audience kept nodding their heads to the beats and lyrics, and the fans loved it.
Througout the concert I happened to notice a wonderful ratio of beatiful women among the „listener listeners“, which made me feel even more comfortable. 🙂
Seems like it was a good call to experience a listener concert.
Rock on and enjoy the tour guys!
