Robbi packed his camera and went to the Chelsea in Vienna for another evening of headbanging photography.
First up were Valley of the Sun all the way from Ohio playing a well rounded set of solid rock’n’roll. Their current EP „The Sayings of the Seers„, was produced by John Naclerio (my chemical romance, senses fail, matchbook romance) and they also have a new album in the works.
Young Austrian outfit „The White Miles“ played main support. The duo is reminiscent of the stellar „White Stripes“ of old, blasting onto the scene in 2011 with their dirty pole dance stoner blues rock. People say they are from Madagascar. The two-piece features Medina on guitar and vocals and Lofi on the drums. The debut album „job: genius, diagnose: madness“ is a cruise through the deep and dark atlantic ocean, mixed with soulsaving flights across the universe. – according to them.
Hailing from Örebro, Sweden the mercurial „Truckfighters“ , main act of the night, descended upon the Chelsea to showcase their interpretation of Alternative Rock. The band consists of Ozo (Oskar Cedermalm) on the bass and main vocals, Dango (Niklas Källgren) on guitar and Enzo (Axel Larsson) on the drums. The audience was treated to tunes from their latest album „Universe“ along with a range of songs from their discography. Powerful riffs and stomping beats are a hallmark of their sound. Hair and sweat was flying around a-plenty as the sold out Chelsea reached boiling point.
If you want to see them from another angle you could always watch the „Fuzzomentary“ about the Truckfighters by Joerg Steineck. Check it out on IMDB.
If you’re still not convinced then we can point you to a reliable source because the Truckfighters are:
„probably the best band in the world….“ – Josh Homme Queen of the Stone Age
