Young japanese sensation S!N visited Europe and Vienna for the first time ever on his current tour and it certainly was one of the more unusual gigs I’ve seen in Vienna! While the venue wasn’t packed by any means, the crowd was eventually swayed by S!N’s energetic and confident approach and by the end of the gig everyone at the venue had been swept up in his performance.
S!N came to prominence around the summer of 2010, building his online following through clever use of his YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook channels. His first album „SNiSN was released in September 2014 with a follow-up entitled „Scala!ion“ in 2015 earning him the opening spot for several gigs of local artists. In April 2016, S!N embarked on his own S!N LIVE TOUR 2016, performing concerts in 15 cities throughout Japan, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.
His major debut album “Salvation” was released by UNIVERSAL MUSIC in June 2016. The tour schedule for S!N LIVE TOUR 2017 included 23 cities in Japan and went from April to the end of July.
The music itself is a bold mix of J-Rock, Midi elements, Screamo passages and gaming beats. Sometimes melodic, sometimes hard and sometimes quirky. To be fair, as he performed solo the music did not have the same „Oompf“ as had it been backed by a full band, but the artist did a good job filling the stage with his presence and voice alone. The people at hand were enthusiastic and overall I think he won some fans that night, would recommend!
