The Popfest Wien has been a recurring event since 2010 and four years later it seems to have truly come into fruition, providing a high quality festival in the middle of Vienna. The Karlsplatz and it’s surrounding buildings become the site of a bubbly melting pot of viennese music as party goers get to witness stylish local acts in a terrific enviroment. The Seebühne especially is a joy to behold on these hazy summer days as thousands of people flock to the fest to celebrate music in the spirit of summer.
Other than its function as an urban open air festival alternative the popfest has also proven to be a great platform for exclusively local talent to shine. Music lovers can revel in a wide array of genres on display reaching from pop, blues, electro, rock and jazz of homegrown music.
We were there on friday and saturday and came back with some impressions from artists the Seebühne, Red Bull Brandwagen and the TU Prechtlsaal as well as beautiful people enjoying a lovely party and making Karslplatz feel like home.
